burlington!

yesterday

sehr and I set off on a mini-roadtrip to visit madison in burlington

after a small tim hortons detour we arrived

our first stop was to the mall where i bought a sweet fedora from forever21

(I've wanted one for so long!)

we then drove down to the waterfront which was absolutely gorgeous

the downtown itself is so cute, with a tonne of shops and restaurants to visit

madison took us to the dickens for lunch

definitely a place i would recommend if you find yourself in burlington!

after lunch, we took a stroll along the shore

and took a bunch of pictures

the scenery was so pretty!

it got so hot after a while, so we walked to RC's for ice-cream

RC's had a nostalgic 1960's sodashop feel

i love the inside, but we weren't allowed to take pictures

so i snuck one anyway

days are always amazing when spent in the company of good friends

in a beautiful place ♥

what's in a name?

welcome to my blog

you might be wondering, what exactly is a flaneur?

the term flaneur describes someone who is a "stroller of the city" &

someone who "walks in the city in order to experience it"

historically, the creation of arcades (the first shopping malls) in france gave rise to the flaneur

who walked through the arcades, observing, and experiencing the city

so why the name?

in just over a month i'll be heading to france, so i wanted a name that was reflective of my trip

also, i'm hoping that this blog will become a collection of experiences

and possibly what i observe in my wanders

often, some of the greatest places i've been to or times i've had

have been when i've taken a little detour and explored something new

maybe you might find something here that will inspire your own wanders
